No — THE FUTURE 3D delivers accurate scan data only: point clouds (XYZ, E57, LAS, RCP), a 3D OBJ mesh, PDF reports, and Matterport 3D tours. We do not produce CAD or BIM files (DWG, DXF, Revit/.rvt, or IFC). If you need CAD or BIM, you have three options: convert our point cloud yourself, hand it to a third-party BIM/CAD firm, or open your own Matterport Professional account (~$69/mo + tax) — we transfer the 3D tour to you and you order Matterport's CAD/BIM add-on directly. Our responsibility is limited to performing the scan and delivering your point-cloud files, so please don't hire us with the expectation that Matterport (or anyone) will convert your scan into CAD/BIM — we make no promise Matterport offers that add-on and are not liable if Matterport changes, reprices, or discontinues it. In every case we take no responsibility for the CAD/BIM you make or obtain, and offer no support on conversion issues, unless the issue traces to a defect in our scanning or point-cloud phase.

Can I get a 2D floor plan from my scan?

A schematic 2D floor plan in PDF is available as an add-on when the capture is done with Matterport ($50). It is a Matterport-generated visual representation of the layout for real-estate marketing and non-critical use — it is not dimensioned or survey-grade, and we take no responsibility for its measurement accuracy. It is not available from our Leica/FARO/Trimble laser scanning, SLAM, or drone jobs, which deliver point clouds and reports.

If I order Matterport's CAD or BIM add-on, what are its limits?

Matterport's CAD/BIM is a paid add-on ordered from your own Matterport account (CAD files start at $100, BIM files at $245), priced by interior square footage. Know the limits before ordering: the DWG is a 2D top-down drawing with no elevations; the CAD reflected ceiling plan is only included if you add the Electrical option; building exteriors and facades are not in scope (even when exterior scans are included); BIM files are LOD 200 — an approximate starting point, not a finished model; and the files are not code-compliant or permit-ready, because Matterport are not licensed architects or engineers and do not stamp drawings. A licensed professional finalizes designs and permits. Note: this add-on is Matterport's own offering, ordered through your own Matterport account — THE FUTURE 3D makes no promise that Matterport provides it and is not responsible if Matterport changes, reprices, or discontinues it after our scan. Please don't engage us expecting a CAD/BIM conversion; our role is limited to performing the scan and delivering the point-cloud and tour deliverables.

THE FUTURE 3D delivers survey-grade, BIM-conversion-ready scan data in E57, XYZ, RCP, and LAS formats for direct import into Revit, AutoCAD, or any BIM platform. Your team handles the modeling, or you hand it off to any BIM provider you choose.

If your space is captured with Matterport, we can also provide a schematic 2D PDF floor plan — a visual representation of the layout for real-estate marketing and other non-critical use (not a dimensioned or survey-grade drawing; we take no responsibility for measurement accuracy). Point cloud accuracy matches the source scan (typically 2-5mm). Scan data turnaround is 3-5 days.
