What accuracy can you achieve with 3D scanning?

Accuracy depends on method and equipment. Survey-grade terrestrial scanning (Trimble X12, FARO Focus Premium): millimeter-level — the Trimble X12 is published at a 3D point accuracy of 2.2 mm @ 20 m. Mobile mapping (NavVis VLX3): 5 mm local accuracy per NavVis. Drone photogrammetry with GCPs: ±2-3cm. Drone LiDAR (ROCK R3 Pro V2): 2–3 cm system accuracy at 40 m AGL per ROCK. Matterport Pro3 virtual tours: ±20 mm @ 10 m per Matterport. We select equipment based on your accuracy requirements and provide documented accuracy reports.
