How does drone photogrammetry work?
Category: technical
Drone photogrammetry captures overlapping aerial photos (typically 75-85% overlap) which software processes using Structure from Motion (SfM) algorithms to create 3D point clouds, mesh models, and orthomosaics. Ground Control Points (GCPs) surveyed with RTK GPS ensure centimeter accuracy. We fly DJI Matrice 400 RTK with Zenmuse P1 (45MP full-frame) for optimal results. Processing takes 1-3 days depending on project size.
