Is the RIEGL really heavier than the Zenmuse L3?
As flown, yes — but compare carefully: RIEGL's 2.2–2.3 kg base figure excludes the IMU/GNSS system (a full system runs 2.5–3.6 kg depending on the option chosen), while the L3's 1.60 kg already includes its integrated positioning system. Comparing 2.3 kg against 1.60 kg would understate the real difference.
Where do these specifications come from?
RIEGL figures come from RIEGL's official VUX-120-23 datasheet (retrieved August 2026, a free download in our spec-sheet library). Zenmuse L3 figures come from DJI's official specification page, captured and verified August 2026 — DJI publishes no L3 spec PDF. The two manufacturers quote maximum range at different reflectivity tiers and range definitions, so the raw metre figures are not directly comparable.
