Is the DJI Matrice 400 worth buying?
For long-endurance professional missions — corridor mapping, BVLOS public safety, large-area LiDAR, AEC documentation — the M400 is the most capable platform DJI has shipped. The 59-minute flight time (DJI's figure, carrying only the H30T), the 6 kg payload at the third gimbal connector, IP55 rating, and rotating LiDAR + mmWave obstacle sensing make it the right choice when the older M350 RTK is too limited.
DJI Matrice 400 vs Matrice 350 RTK — which should I buy?
The M400 supersedes the M350 RTK. Compared to the M350 (55 min flight with no payload, O3 transmission), the M400 delivers 59 min flight carrying the H30T, a 6 kg payload at the third gimbal connector, O4 Enterprise transmission, and rotating LiDAR + mmWave obstacle sensing. The M400 also exclusively supports the new Zenmuse L3 LIDAR (the M350 does not). Buy the M400 unless you need a payload that has not been certified on the M400 yet.
What batteries does the DJI Matrice 400 use?
The M400 uses the DJI TB100 Intelligent Flight Battery (20,254 mAh, 977 Wh). The TB100 is M400-specific and is NOT cross-compatible with the M300/M350. We sell a brand new TB100 separately, along with the BS100 Intelligent Battery Station that charges three TB100s to 100% in 45 minutes.

What is the cheapest price for a new DJI Matrice 400?
This listing is $7,900 for a brand new, unflown M400 aircraft kit. For comparison, a live check of authorized US dealers on August 6, 2026 found DSLRPros and Dronefly at $10,300 and Drone Nerds, Drone Deer Recovery, Adorama and Volatus Drones all at $10,450 — so this unit is $2,400 to $2,550 below every authorized dealer we could find. The reason it is lower is simple: it is surplus from our own working fleet rather than dealer inventory, so there is no showroom markup. Verify the current dealer prices yourself before you buy — we would rather you check than take our word for it.
Why is this Matrice 400 cheaper than the dealers?
Because we are not a dealer. THE FUTURE 3D is a working drone and 3D scanning operator, and this aircraft is surplus from our own fleet. We are not carrying showroom overhead or dealer margin on it, and we would rather convert it to cash than keep it on a shelf. What you give up versus a dealer is the dealer relationship — there is no DJI Care package bundled in and all sales are final. What you get is the same brand new, unflown aircraft with its serial number shared before payment, in-person inspection welcome at our Miami office, and roughly $2,500 back in your pocket.
Can I rent a DJI Matrice 400 instead of buying?
We don't rent equipment — THE FUTURE 3D sells it and provides drone services. A bare M400 airframe is rarely rented on its own; rental houses bundle the aircraft with a payload, and a full M400 package runs on the order of $1,500–$2,500 per week (DroneLabs), plus shipping and insurance. Owning this brand-new aircraft kit at $7,900 means no recurring rental — and you add exactly the payload you need (we sell the Zenmuse L3 separately). If you'd rather not own one, we operate our own M400 fleet and can fly your mapping or LiDAR project as a service.
Why would I buy the Matrice 400 aircraft on its own, without a battery or charging station?
Because you already have the power side covered. Operators expanding an existing M400 fleet — or anyone who already owns TB100 batteries and a BS100 charging station — only need the airframe, remote, and case. Buying this aircraft-only kit at $7,900 avoids paying again for batteries and a charger you already own. If you do not yet have TB100 power, choose the flight-ready M400 + battery + charging bundle instead, or the complete M400 + Zenmuse L3 LiDAR bundle. This listing is deliberately the airframe only — that is what makes it different from our bundles.
