Equipment FAQ

What conditions are required for thermal drone inspection?

Category: technical

Optimal thermal inspection requires: WEATHER—dry conditions, wind under 15 MPH, no rain/fog/high humidity. TIMING—best performed 1 hour after sunset when temperature differential is greatest between wet/dry and hot/cold areas. SURFACE—roof must be dry for moisture detection. LIMITATIONS—thermal sees surface temperature only, cannot see through walls/glass/water. Metal surfaces can reflect heat and distort readings. Our H30T (1280×1024 resolution) and M4T (640×512) thermal sensors require trained interpretation for accurate results.
