Can AI replace human inspectors for drone inspections?

NO—AI augments but cannot replace human expertise. AI LIMITATIONS: Drones follow predefined algorithms and cannot infer that detecting one issue should prompt closer inspection of related areas. AI can highlight a crack but cannot determine the cause or recommend remediation. HYBRID APPROACH RECOMMENDED: NYC Department of Buildings states "combined with traditional hands-on examinations, drones could result in more comprehensive building inspections." For building envelope work, the drone operator should be a trained building consultant who can interpret findings. We use AI for defect detection but always pair with professional analysis.
