About the Leica RTC360

The Leica RTC360 is a professional tripod scanner delivering up to 2 million points per second with a 0.5–130-meter range. The Visual Inertial System (VIS) automatically tracks scanner movement between positions, enabling seamless registration without targets.

A complete full-dome scan with spherical HDR image takes under 2 minutes at the 6 mm @ 10 m resolution setting. Move to next position. The RTC360's efficiency makes it ideal for professional AEC firms requiring Leica ecosystem integration. The 36 MP three-camera system (432 MPx of raw data per setup) and direct Cyclone integration deliver the quality and workflow that Leica users expect.

Leica's June 2026 terrestrial-scanner lineup chart introduces the RTC300, RTC500 and RTC700 alongside it; the RTC360 remains part of our active fleet.

Key Benefits

  • 1.9mm 3D point accuracy at 10m for survey-grade precision

Leica RTC360 Frequently Asked Questions

What is VIS on the RTC360?

VIS (Visual Inertial System) uses cameras and motion sensors to track the scanner's movement between positions. This enables automatic registration without placing targets—saving significant setup time.

How does RTC360 compare to Trimble X12?

Both are professional-grade scanners. The X12 has a Trimble-published 3D point accuracy of 2.2 mm @ 20 m and a longer range (250m effective vs 130m); Leica publishes 1.9 mm @ 10 m for the RTC360, so the two figures are quoted at different distances. The RTC360's VIS system may save time for projects not requiring maximum precision. We select based on project requirements.
