What is MatterPak?

MatterPak is a Matterport add-on that exports your 3D tour data into industry-standard file formats. The MatterPak Bundle ($100) includes colorized XYZ point clouds, 3D OBJ mesh models, and reflected ceiling/floorplan images. E57 point cloud files are available as a separate purchase ($150).

Is E57 included in MatterPak?

No, E57 is NOT included in the standard MatterPak Bundle. E57 files require a separate purchase at $150. This is because E57 provides significantly higher-density point cloud data (~20x more detail) and requires additional processing.

What's the difference between XYZ and E57?

XYZ files (included in MatterPak) provide colorized point cloud data suitable for visualization. E57 files (separate $150) offer much higher density point clouds optimized for CAD/BIM workflows in Revit, AutoCAD, and Recap with ~20x more detail.

How accurate is MatterPak data?

MatterPak point cloud data inherits the accuracy of the original Matterport scan, typically within 1% at the 10-meter range. For survey-grade accuracy, we recommend our laser scanning services with ±2-4mm precision.

Can I use MatterPak for BIM modeling?

Yes! For BIM modeling, we recommend adding the E57 file ($150 separate) which imports directly into Revit as a reference. The OBJ mesh from MatterPak Bundle is great for visualization and 3D rendering.

What are reflected ceiling and floorplan images?

MatterPak includes top-down imagery extracted from the 3D model. The reflected ceiling plan shows ceiling features, while the floorplan image provides a schematic overhead view of the space layout - perfect for documentation and quick reference.

How do I order MatterPak and E57?
